High School Science Festival 2021

Every year on February, 8 the scientific community celebrates the Day of Russian Science that is aimed at recognizing the role of science in the development of the country and its society. On this day it has been a good tradition to honor achievements of Russian and Soviet scientists many of whom are well-known outside Russia for their significant contribution to the world science.

The awards ceremony was held at Sechenov University (Moscow). It should be mentioned that the event has been held for the seventh time in a row and traditionally brings together universities’ best innovative projects and practices.  

This year the scientific and innovative project competition was held in the following areas: clinical research in dentistry, neurology, pediatrics, immunology, surgery, oncology, cardiology, psychiatry, microbiology, reproductive health, public health; interdisciplinary biomedical research: molecular medicine, regenerative medicine, personalized medicine, translational medicine, biotechnology.

University staff and a dental student brought RSMU the following results:

  1. Alexey V. Shchulkin and Yulia V. Abalenikhina came out on top with the project "Molecular mechanisms of regulation of the functioning of P-glycoprotein under conditions of oxidative stress in vitro".
  2. Yuri Y. Byalovsky and Irina S. Rakitina came the second in the nomination "Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research: Translational Medicine ".
  3. Maria S. Kozhevnikova took the third place in "Clinical research in dentistry" nomination with the project "Clinical and laboratory substantiation of adaptation to prosthetic dental constructions in patients with multiple secondary edentulousness by means of correcting the volume and speed of oral air flows."
