International activity
An important role in optimizing the educational process and conduct relevant scientific research belongs to the international relations of the University.
The main directions of the international collaboration are the following:
- participation in international projects and agreements;
- education of foreign students on the basic educational programs, as well as programs of postgraduate education (internship, residency, postgraduate);
- cooperation with foreign and international educational and scientific organizations and institutions for the exchange of scientific information, professional development of the staff;
- cooperation with foreign organizations for exploration of new medicaments and medical devices, surgical materials, joint seminars and conferences;
- scientific conferences of international level, the participation of university workers in foreign and international scientific forums;
- publishing of articles and theses in international press by the university workers.
Ryazan State Medical University is going on the level of international standards of quality in educational and scientific activity, what is confirmed by the quality certificates of the Swiss company SGS and the European Organization for Quality.
The University actively uses in the educational process modern scientific achievements and advanced experience of the world’s best universities thanks to relations with universities and scientific centers: the University of Perugia (Italie), François Rabelais University in Tours (France), West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (Poland).
The University repeatedly received delegations from different countries of the world.
Thus, in 2008 the President of the European Association for Counseling, Jennifer McNamara (Great Britain) who gave a plenary lecture on professional burnout at the VIII Conference “Problems of personality development: psychological counseling and psychotherapy” and held a master class on “Attachment theory of J. Bowlby: current status and problems”.
In March 2009, the University received a delegation of the Widener University (USA) consisting of associate professor, co-director of the Institute of Integrative Psychiatry in New York City, a member of the American and international associations of psychotherapy, psychology, Dr. Marye O'Reilly-Knapp and a group of graduate students of the Widener University. Marye O'Reilly-Knapp delivered a lecture to students of the University, of the Ryazan Medical College and members of the Ryazan Nursing Association about the psychological aspects of medical care in patients with psychiatric problems, and also held a master class on integrative psychotherapy for students and faculty members.
Since 1992, the University provides training of the specialists in a number of foreign citizens for medical and scientific institutions in Asia, Africa, Europe and the CIS.
The University has a wide experience in teaching in English and French languages which contributes to the effective implementation of the educational process with students from countries in which these languages have the status of the state language. During this time, university graduates were more than 750 foreign nationals. Today, the university enrolled more than 1000 foreign students from 63 countries worldwide.

On the basis of the university operates Ryazan branch of the International Eurasian Academy of Medical Sciences, which brings together scholars of Eurasian territory, dealing with medical problems, the promotion of scientific fundamental and applied research in medicine and to create conditions for the creativity of scientists, including the training of scientific personnel and medical biologists of higher qualification, development of contacts among scientists from different countries. Research in the Academy is focused on several areas, including medical and social problems of demographic development of countries and parts of Eurasia, and current problems in clinical medicine (cardiovascular diseases, social diseases, respiratory diseases, etc.), optimization of the management of common system of public health protection.
Scientists of the University annually take an active part in major international scientific conferences, congresses and conferences on palliative care, cardiovascular, bronchopulmonary, surgical, endocrine, urological, psychiatric, dermatological, ophthalmologic, infectious diseases, health management (Austria, United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Greece, Italy, Spain, China, Slovenia, Turkey, Tunisia, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Ukraine).
More than 30 university employees are academicians and Corresponding Members of 10 international and foreign public academies: the International Academy of Science, International Informatization Academy, the New York Academy of Sciences, International Academy of Ecology, Man and Nature Protection Sciences, International Eurasian Academy of Medical Sciences, International Academy of Psychological Sciences, International Academy of Higher Education, International Academy of Pedagogical Science Education, International Academy of Theory and Practice Management, British Academy of Pharmacists, the European Academy of Natural Sciences, etc.
A number of workers of clinical departments have international certificates GCP (“Good Clinical Practice”).
Since 2003 the University carries out research on programs of the World Health Organization: world health research (jointly with Institute of Social Hygiene, Economics and Management of Health named after N.A. Semashko), the international project “A Practical Approach to Lung Health” (jointly with Institute of Pulmonology) for the Study of Global Ageing and Adult Health by the method of WHO (in conjunction with the National Institute of Public Health Sciences of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences).
Clinical departments of the University during many years constantly take part in international clinical researches: international programs GINA (the Global Initiative for Asthma) and GOLD (The Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease), programs «MIRAGE» (The international multicenter study of rheumatoid arthritis (the quality of life)), «MINOTAUR» (The international multicenter study of hypertension and metabolic syndrome); «MIAR» (multicenter study of antihypertensive drugs in rheumatology); «FAUST» (open, multicenter long-term program “The efficacy and safety fozida with microalbuminuria in patients with cardiovascular disease”); «STRATEGY» (open multicentre comparative assessment program effectiveness noliprel in patients with arterial hypertension and poorly controlled blood pressure); «ARCHIMEDES» (The efficiency of the combined α, ß blocker Akridilol (karvedinol) in patients with chronic heart failure); «ACCORD» (efficacy of the combined α, ß blocker Akridilol (karvedinol) in patients with hypertension and the presence of obesity and / or diabetes mellitus); Register “Acute coronary syndrome”; «ROWER» (efficacy and tolerability of Teveten), and others.
Every year clinical departments of the University collaborate with approximately 30 foreign pharmaceutical companies such as “Berlin-Chemie”, “Boehringer Ingelheim”, “Pharmacia and Andzhon”, “Avtoshov”, “Schering-Plough”, “Pfizer”, “Sanofi”, “Krka”, “Servier”, “Gedeon Richter”, ”Pliva”, “ASTA Medica”, “Grindex”, “Shreya”, “Balkanfarma”, ”Nerich mack nachf”, “Ranbaxy”, “Aegis”, “Dr. Reddy’s”, “Kami Medical”, “Promed”, “Transatlantic”, “Incen”, “Himalaya Drug Co.”, “Johnson & Johnson”, “Novartis”, “Glasco”, “Bionorica”, “Yamanouchi EuropeAid”, “Astellas”, “Solvey pharma”, “Glenmark”, “Promed-Export”, “Alcon”, “Ferrosan International A / S, etc.
Participation of the University in joint projects can improve educational, scientific and medical processes, introducing new educational and medical technology makes possible the training of professors and university scientists in the best scientific and educational centers of the world, a joint production of educational and scientific literature.
